In the beginning, people at the age of fourteen and below accounted for a half of the total population in Yemen, followed by those aged 15 to 59 at 46.3%.

Câu này có một số lỗi như sau:

1)  đang tả năm 2000, tức là chỉ muốn nói năm 2000 thì nhóm đó đứng ở mức đó chứ chưa có nói là nó sẽ thay đổi như thế nào => nên dùng là "At the beginning,..." thay vì "In the beginning,..."

2) chỗ "people at the age of fourteen and below" thì một số bạn nói cần thêm "who were", nhưng thật ra thì không (cứ coi như là rút gọn rồi, có who were hay không cũng được nhưng mà bỏ đi cho gọn). Tuy nhiên nên xài theo cấu trúc như vầy sẽ đúng hơn:

hoặc đơn giản là dùng "people aged 14 and below" là được (aged là tính từ) 

3) có bạn nói chỗ "accounted for a half of the total population in Yemen" nên đổi "a" thành "the", tuy nhiên "half" ở đây là determiner => không cần thêm "a" hay "the" gì hết.

=> Có thể viết lại câu trên thành: 

At the beginning, people aged 14 and below accounted for half of the total population in Yemen, followed by those between the ages of 15 and 59 at 46.3%.
